Welcome to my new blog!!!

It's a beautiful warm day in Southern California and our foster cat "Miss Kitty" just gave birth to 4 healthy kittens (although I suspect there may be one or two more yet to come).  It's kitten season and our home is overflowing with foster cats & kittens!  Miss Kitty was given to us (along with a couple other cats) by a lady a few blocks away who's health was in jeopardy due to her severe allergies to cats.  After Miss Kitty's babies are grown and adopted to new families, Miss Kitty will get spayed and placed in a new home of her own.

I won't get to spend as much time as I like today working on designing my new blog.  Miss Kitty has not been doing her job of severing the umbilical cords of her babies, and I have had to do it for her for 3 of the babies so far.  I'm going to need to keep a watchful eye on Miss Kitty's progress until I am sure she has finished giving birth.  Miss Kitty should be a pro at this because she has had litters before, but I don't mind helping her out.  The good news is all of the newborns have come out healthy so far.  At the moment we have 3 black kittens and 1 gray one.   It's always an exciting day when newborns come into our home!  I promise to post lots of photos of the newborns in the days and weeks to come so you can see their progression into adorable little monsters!
